Breathing life into a tired restaurant space, in a location like Los Angeles, this is anything but an ordinary Oyster Bar.
Infusing two unlikely drivers, sea and soul, Maximalist pulls inspiration from soul music, food and culture mixed with vibrant colors, movement, energy and life from the sea. The duality of undulating sound waves and ocean waves give rhythm and movement that an oyster bar needs to transition from day to night. The back bar covered in cork wall covering, records and bottles of liquor, lined with Tom Dixon lights, and barstools covered in a Knoll watercolor upholstery.
