Creating a brand identity for Charley Co was inspired by the founder and personality behind the vision - owner Bryn Carter. Bryn embodied the brand, it was our job to extract it into a logo form, expression through wallpaper, and creating a sense of community throughout the space. Proof in point, you can create a a brand experience within a co-working space.

As 303 Magazine put it “kickass décor (that’s designed to not be “too girly”), “personalizable” offices and fun community spaces, Charley Co will also act as an event space.” Simply put it was designed around Bryn Carter as our muse - not only from a perspective of style and empowerment but the ethos of the brand was built around that same mentality - community, build each other up, come one, come all, inviting, inclusive, exciting and inspired… the vision for the space and brand was one of celebrating feminism. We took that literally and brought the concept of femininity to life with wallpaper in the bathrooms, conference rooms inspired by Bryn’s email sign off “you’re the tits” with boob wallpaper, peaches wallpaper and female rap artists with lyrics on the wall, to flipping the middle finger in the salon - to just be yourself. Each pattern has a story, a meaning and a reason for being. The sign over Bryn’s office that greets you as you walk up the stairs reads “Be your own BO$$” - it was important to Bryn that her vision for female empowerment come through into every single detail.

Bryn Carter founded Charley Co as a space for women from all industries to come build, create, collaborate and elevate, together. And she’s crafting every detail to reflect that vision. The color palette very intentionally was created to elicit royalty, founded in the symbolism of the logo mark - the serpentine, a meaning of power. The color palette - emerald green, gold, accents of blush, cobalt and yellow came to life in the space and throughout the brand expression. The logo was designed with the intent to give personality, and connect back tot he meaning of the name “Her Name Was - Charley” the letterform of the word Charley in the logo is connected - as cheesy as it sounds as though each woman is interconnected, and holding each other up, holding hands as a sign of unity and community. Awarded IIDA’s 2019 WORKPLACE 12,000 SF OR BELOW IIDA Rocky Mountain Chapter BEST award “The custom wallcovering in the restrooms is not to miss. One is female rappers (sound system correlates) and the other is a positive and playful celebration of the female body.”

For Carter, it’s about community. She wanted to build a space for women to come and collaborate – a place for women to not only co-work but also co-create without the interruptions that so many of us experience on a daily basis.
